The quieter northwestern coastline of Sri Lanka offers a unique blend of natural beauty, wildlife encounters, cultural heritage, and religious sites. Kalpitya lagoon is very popular with the Kite & Wind Surfing community and the region is also home to the magnificent Wilpattu National Park.  Along with magnificent and lesser known  historical and sacred sites such as Thanthirimalee and  Thirukketheeswaram the less travelled West Coast still carries the mystique of an undiscovered Sri Lanka

  • Negombo 


Located just a short drive from the Bandaranaike International Airport, Negombo is a popular tourist destination known for its long sandy beaches and vibrant fishing community. Explore the Dutch Fort, visit the lively fish market, and enjoy water sports like windsurfing and sailing. 


  • Kalpitiya 


Located on a peninsula, Kalpitiya is a paradise that is very popular with the Kite and windsurfing community. The area is renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life. Go kiteboarding, windsurfing, or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and whales. 


  • Wilpattu National Park 


Situated in the North Western Province, Wilpattu National Park is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. Known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful natural landscapes, it offers an opportunity to spot leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. 


  • Anuradhapura 


Although not directly on the coastline, Anuradhapura is an ancient city located in the North Central Province It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and holds great historical and religious significance. Explore ancient ruins, stunning dagobas (dome-shaped Buddhist temples), and vast Buddhist monasteries. 


  • Thirukeshwaram Kovil

Believed to have been constructed over 2,500 years ago, this revered Hindu temple , stands as a testament to centuries of spiritual devotion. Nestled against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, this ancient temple holds profound religious significance, drawing pilgrims and visitors alike.


  • Thanthirimale Rajamaha Viharaya

An ancient marvel steeped in spiritual resonance. Enveloped by serene surroundings, this historic temple dates to circa 2300 years ago and boasts ancient stupas and intricate carvings that whisper tales from centuries past. A pilgrimage to Thanthirimale offers not just a glimpse into the island's religious heritage but also a tranquil retreat where the echoes of devotion resonate through time.
