Tucked away in the city centre is the Trans Asia Hotel which is the capital’s leading city resort. The hotel was designed with this thought and a resort was created within the city by taking advantage of the largest grounds facing the beautiful lake. The Architects designed the hotel using traditional Sri Lankan material including granite from the Kurunegala mountain’s and red cabook stone for the exterior – giving the hotel its unique character, look and feel. The hotel consists of 359 rooms spread across seven floors.
Many world renowned guests, including royalty, heads of government, leading corporate executives, famous artistes, actors and many travellers from all corners of the world, over the past two decades have stayed at the hotel.
