Sinharaja forest - The only considerable patch of Rain Forest consisting of 90 square resident miles. Abundant animal life and many endemic species of birds and plants can be seen. Distance 95 km / duration 2 ½ hours.
Ambalangoda - Home town of traditional Mask-makers who turn out indigenous Masks of Devils and other deities used in low Country-dances. Distance 25km. / duration 30 minutes
Galle - An old sea port at the Southern tip of the island with a well preserved Dutch Fort. Distance 52 km / duration 1 ½ hours
Kosgoda - Famous for turtle hatcheries and marine life, located 10 Km away. Distance 08 km. / duration 15 minutes.
Weligama - A pretty sight at this little fishing Town famous for fishing on stilts. Distance 75 km. / duration 02 hours.
Yala - The national Wild life Park. 305km south-east of Colombo. Animal sightings are frequent, especially elephants, leopards, deer, sambur and wild buffaloes. Distance 241 km. / duration 06 hours.
Uda Walawe - This wild life sanctuary is famous for it's herd of over 500 elephants. Many rare highland birds, colourful butterflies, deer and peacocks could be seen. Excellent for trout fishing and hiking. Distance 175 km. / duration 05 hours
