Bordering a lake and hidden amidst the bushes of Sri Lanka’s dry zone in the north central province sits Habarana Village by Cinnamon. We strive to combine the air of a traditional Sri Lankan village with rustic luxury to give you a very different take on the resort experience. Considered to be a great Sigiriya hotel, providing access to myriad historical and natural sites, staying here is the pinnacle of leisure, quiet times and personal exploration.
Habarana Village by Cinnamon is located 176km from Colombo with an atmosphere of times gone by where living was done at a simpler pace and smiles were aplenty. Homely, friendly and constantly reviewed on Trip Advisor, we also aim to work with staff from the neighbouring villages in a sustainable manner that benefits everyone from guests to the environment we sit in. The quiet ambiance of our village resort is only punctuated by the occasional chattering of a monkey or an early morning bird call.
Most of the resort’s 94 superior rooms have been conveniently arranged in hamlet clusters, making it the ideal booking option for both large and small groups travelling together. The superior rooms are extremely popular, providing the true art of village-style living with little luxuries to boot. Picture yourself enjoying a morning coffee on your veranda and waving to your neighbour on the other side. Each room is tastefully furnished with generous amenities and the exteriors blend in harmoniously with the resort’s natural surroundings – luckily there’s a footpath to guide you back to our Sigiriya hotel in Sri Lanka, so you’ll never get lost here in our village resort.
The first thing you will notice as you walk in to one of our deluxe rooms is its inexplicable spaciousness. Nowhere in the island are you going to walk into a room and find so much space, minimalist interiors and a classic Sri Lankan atmosphere combined in perfect harmony for your pleasure. All 12 of our deluxe rooms have king-sized four-poster beds combined with a cosy seating area for lounging in front of your large flat-screen TV. The rooms directly face the glassy lake that surrounds us and offer some of the best views that no other Habarana hotel in Sri Lanka does. Sometimes it’s enough to sit peacefully; nursing a drink and watching the day pass you by. The open-air bathroom will also be a delight with a cement tub for submerging yourself after a long day exploring the outdoors.
